Fitch rates Laredo, Texas, certificates A+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned its A+ rating to Laredo, Texas' $30.7 million combination tax and revenue certificates of obligation, series 2008A, and $47.3 million combination tax and waterworks and sewer system revenue certificates of obligation, series 2008B.

The certificates are scheduled to sell the week of May 19 via negotiation.

Additionally, Fitch said it affirmed the A+ rating on the city's outstanding debt, comprising $69.2 million general obligation bonds, $137.6 million certificates of obligation and $2.9 million public property finance contractual obligations.
