La Paloma Generating requests extension of plan solicitation period

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 10 – La Paloma Generating Co., LLC requested a third extension of its exclusive period for soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company wants to extend the exclusive solicitation period by 60 days through Dec. 5.

As previously reported, La Paloma filed a plan on Sept. 21 that revised a previous version filed in August.

The disclosure statement was approved on Sept. 28, and the plan confirmation hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30.

The company said it has now turned its focus toward the confirmation hearing.

“The extension requested by this motion will provide the debtors with the opportunity to continue these efforts without the distraction of a competing Chapter 11 plan,” the motion said.

A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6.

La Paloma is a 1,022 MW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant located in Kern, Calif. The company filed bankruptcy on Dec. 6, 2016 under Chapter 11 case number 16-12700.
