Turkey's Anadolu Efes completes $500 million term loan facility

By Reshmi Basu

New York, Sept. 14 - Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayii A/S (Anadolu Efes) and Efes Breweries International NV (EBI) said they have completed a $500 million three-year syndicated term loan facility.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including the refinancing of existing debt.

Citibank NA and HSBC Bank plc were the lead arrangers for the facility, which was more than 2½ times oversubscribed.

Istanbul-based Anadolu Efes produces and markets beer and malt as well as soft drinks under the Coca-Cola brand across Turkey, Russia, the CIS countries, Southeast Europe and the Middle East.

EBI, established in The Netherlands, is a 70.2% subsidiary of Anadolu Efes.
