Chicago, Dec. 5 - Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings registered to sell an undetermined amount of securities in an S-3ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are senior or subordinated debt securities, preferred stock, common stock or warrants to purchase debt securities, preferred stock or common stock. Securities may be issued as convertibles.

Proceeds will go toward general corporate purposes.

The issuer is a Burlington, N.C.-based independent clinical laboratory company.
