L-3 Communications to redeem 7 5/8% notes with placement proceeds

Chicago, Sept. 29 - L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. said it plans to redeem its $750 million 7 5/8% senior subordinated notes due June 2012 with proceeds from a private placement.

The company's wholly owned subsidiary, L-3 Communications Corp., plans to issue $750 million of senior notes under Rule 144A.

L-3 Communications is a New York-based provider of command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems; aircraft modernization and maintenance; and government services.
