Moody’s gives KT bonds A3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A3 rating to the proposed senior unsecured Japanese yen-denominated bonds to be issued by KT Corp.

The outlook is stable.

KT plans to use the proceeds from the proposed notes to refinance its maturing long-term debt.

“The A3 rating primarily reflects KT's healthy financial leverage and competitive strength as a fully integrated telecommunications operator, with significant market shares across all major segments in its home market of Korea,” Sean Hwang, Moody's analyst, said in a news release.
