S&P assigns KT notes A-

S&P said it assigned its A- long-term issue rating to KT Corp.'s planned U.S.-dollar-denominated senior unsecured notes.

“The issue rating on the proposed notes is the same as our issuer rating on KT Corp. (A-/stable/--). This mainly reflects our view that the company's leverage is low. This limits the possibility of senior unsecured debtholders being significantly disadvantaged relative to other lenders,” the agency said in a press release.

The company plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including repayment of debt.
