Kroll Zolfo Cooper names "Joff" Mitchell as national practice leader

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 6 - Kroll Zolfo Cooper announced in a press release it has appointed managing director Jonathan A. "Joff" Mitchell as national practice leader, responsible for the firm's domestic operations.

Based in New York, Mitchell has more than 25 years of management experience across a variety of industries, the release said, including retail, distribution, manufacturing and energy. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of Entegra Power Group, which owns the two largest gas-fired merchant power plants in the United States.

Most recently he led Entegra's refinancing, raising $1.33 billion. Previously, he was interim chief executive officer of Giftware Holdings, an importer and distributor.

Mitchell, who joined Kroll Zolfo Cooper in 1999, has provided restructuring leadership to companies and has advised management teams and boards of directors in non-public situations, the release said.

"In today's challenging economic climate, skilled restructuring expertise is increasingly in demand," Kroll's chief executive officer Simon Freakley said in the release. "Joff will be leading a team of the industry's top turnaround talents to help clients successfully navigate a wide range of financial and operational difficulties."

Kroll Zolfo Cooper is the North American corporate advisory and restructuring division of consulting company Kroll, which is an operating unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos.
