Kroll Bond Ratings announces senior management team, expects to post first ratings in third quarter

Tacoma, Wash., July 14 - Kroll Bond Ratings announced the members of its senior management team in a news release on Wednesday.

The new ratings agency expects to publish its first ratings during the third quarter.

Jules Kroll is the chairman and chief executive officer of Kroll Bond Ratings and the founder of Kroll Inc. In 1972, he established Kroll Associates Inc. as a consultant to corporate purchasing departments. The firm was sold to Marsh & McLennan Cos. in 2004.

Kroll was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by Cornell University in 2003 and received the U.S. Entrepreneurial Award from British American Business Inc. in 2002, according to the release.

He received a bachelor of arts degree from Cornell University and a bachelor of law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association and is board president of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Foundation.

The new team members have the "much-needed judgment to refashion the credit ratings industry" and will allow the new agency to provide investors with a "reliable and accurate product," Kroll said in the release.

The senior management team also includes:

• James Nadler, president and chief operating officer. He was previously the vice president for corporate development at General Re in the New England asset management division and executive vice president at Fitch Ratings, where he was responsible for strategy, budgets, hiring, product development, and credit rating criteria for the structured finance group.

Nadler began his career as a ratings officer at Standard & Poor's and as a senior accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He received a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Kansas and a master of business administration degree from Rutgers University;

• Robert Anselmi, general counsel and chief compliance officer. Before joining Kroll Bond Ratings, he held positions with New York Life Investment Management, Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan Investment Management.

Anselmi has a bachelor of science degree in economics from Fordham University, a master of business administration degree from Fordham University's Graduate School of Business and a law degree from the Fordham University School of Law;

• Ellen Coleman, director of underwriting review. She is responsible for mortgage originator and servicer reviews. Coleman spent five years in various treasury roles at Countrywide Financial Corp. and 10 years as a relationship banker with ABN Amro Bank in Los Angeles.

She began her banking career at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York. She holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Georgetown University and a master of business administration degree from the University of California, Los Angeles;

• Jerome Fons, executive vice president of strategy. He is an economist specializing in credit risk and rating agency issues and spent 17 years at Moody's Investors Service, where he held positions including managing director of credit policy, chair of the fundamental credit committee and chair of the standing committee on rating symbols and practices. He was also a member of Moody's credit policy committee and country risk committee.

Prior to joining Moody's, Fons was an economic adviser at Chemical Bank, New York and an economist with the Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Cleveland. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from San Diego State University and a doctor of philosophy degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego; and

• Ajay Junnarkar, chief financial and administrative officer. He joins the company from Marsh & McLennan, where he was a senior finance team member. He also worked at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., where he conducted due diligence investigations for its investment, merchant and private banking operations.

Junnarkar began his career as a forensic accountant at Kroll Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in math and a master of arts degree in accounting from the University of Waterloo in Canada, a master of business administration degree from Columbia Business School and is a Chartered Accountant in Canada.
