Kroger planning to sell $500 million seven-year notes Tuesday

Virginia Beach, Oct. 21 – Kroger Co. is planning to sell a $500 million offering of senior notes due 2021 on Tuesday, according to a market source and a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

BofA Merrill Lynch, MUFG and Wells Fargo Securities LLC are the bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used to repurchase commercial paper and for general corporate purposes.

Kroger is a Cincinnati-based grocery retailer.
