S&P affirms Krakow

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its BBB+ long-term foreign and local currency issuer credit ratings on the Polish City of Krakow.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect the commitment of the city's sophisticated management team in pursuing its long-term financial policy and the city's strong and diversified economic base.

The ratings are constrained, however, by infrastructure needs and by limited financial flexibility. The city's debt-raising capacity, meanwhile, is restricted due to rigid nationally imposed limits.
