Moody's rates Korea Western Power notes A1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A1 rating to the proposed senior unsecured U.S. dollar-denominated notes of Korea Western Power Corp.

The notes will be issued under its existing $2 billion global medium-term notes program, which was established on April 30.

The outlook is stable.

"The A1 rating reflects KOWEPO's close relationship with Korea Electric Power Corporation, which is the sole owner and offtaker of the firm," said Mic Kang, a Moody's vice president and senior analyst, in a news release.
