Fitch rates Korea Investment BBB

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB long-term issuer default rating, F3 short-term rating, C individual rating and 4 support rating to Korea Investment Securities. The outlook is stable.

The agency said the ratings reflect the company's position as one of South Korea's few leading stock-broking firms, its long history of satisfactory performance, high level of capitalization, good management and prudent regulatory regime.

While Korea Investment's brokerage, trading and investment activities have been volatile, Fitch said it has generally performed quite well despite South Korea's financial crisis in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
