S&P rates Korea Hydro program A

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its A rating to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. Ltd.'s (A/stable) $2 billion global MTN program, adding that the rating is subject to final documentation.

According to the agency, the rating on Korea Hydro reflects the ongoing government support it receives as Korea's sole nuclear power generation company, producing about 40% of the nation's total electric power.

Additionally, the ratings on the company are underpinned by support from its parent company, Korea Electric Power Corp. (A/stable/A-1), S&P said.
