S&P: Korea Finance bonds A+

Standard & Poor's said that it assigned its A+ senior unsecured long-term foreign-currency rating to Korea Finance Corp.'s proposed senior unsecured samurai bonds.

The agency said the rating on the bonds reflects the rating on Korea Finance.

S&P said the ratings on the company are equalized with the ratings on Korea, reflecting S&P's opinion that there is an almost certain likelihood that the Korean government would provide timely and sufficient extraordinary support to Korea Finance in the event of financial distress.

In accordance with S&P's criteria for government-related entities, the rating approach is based on S&P's view of Korea Finance's critical role as a primary public financial institution specialized in public policy financial intermediation and integral link with its sole owner, the Korean government.
