S&P: Korea East-West bonds A+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned an A+ long-term debt rating to Korea East-West Power Co. Ltd.'s proposed U.S. dollar-denominated senior unsecured bonds.

The proceeds will be used to fund general corporate purposes, including capital expenditure and refinancing, S&P said.

The agency said it reviewed the ratings, which were under observation, after the publishing of its revised criteria Nov. 19.

S&P said it expedited the review of because of the company's announced debt issue.

The company's other ratings were confirmed and are unaffected by the criteria changes, the agency added.
