Fitch: South Korea unchanged

Fitch Ratings said that the death of North Korea's former leader Kim Jong-il has no immediate implications for South Korea's A+ rating with a positive outlook but that relations with the North, already a source of risk, will need to be monitored closely.

The agency said it is too early to say how the situation will evolve after Kim Jong-il's death.

Fitch assigned a positive outlook in November, citing South Korea's stronger sovereign and external balance sheets, prudent fiscal policies and economic resilience.
