Moody's may lift Konica

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the Baa2 long-term ratings of Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. under review for possible upgrade.

The rating action reflects Moody's expectation that the company's solid operating performance is likely to continue and its capital structure to improve, given its strategy to further strengthen its core business technologies and optics businesses.

In its review, Moody's said it will assess Konica Minolta's ability to improve and stabilize earnings by further strengthening the global market position for its core businesses, as well as management's ability to cope with an increasingly challenging operating environment.
