Knight Libertas appoints Mounts, Recouso to fixed-income research

Knoxville, Tenn., March 4 - Knight Libertas LLC announced it has hired Charles R. Mounts as a managing director and Christopher A. Recouso as a director in fixed-income research.

Mounts was a co-head of fixed income, currencies and commodities research at UBS, and Recouso is an analyst specializing in emerging markets. At Knight Libertas, Mounts will be responsible for coverage of the financial sector and Recouso will cover emerging markets issuers and distressed debt.

Before working at UBS, Mounts was a vice president in credit research at Goldman Sachs and an analyst in fixed-income credit research at Merrill Lynch. During his career, he has achieved high rankings in various investor polls in the United States and Europe. He began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

He has a bachelor of arts in international economics and history from Claremont McKenna College and a master's degree in public policy from Harvard University.

Recouso spent more than a decade at Bear Stearns as an equity research analyst in global emerging markets research, where he covered the media and telecommunications sectors. He was named to the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team each year from 1998 to 2007. Recouso joins Knight from Global China Holdings, LLC where he worked as an adviser on corporate restructurings. Prior to that, he was a principal in the global distressed assets/global credit products group at Banc of America Securities.

He has a bachelor of arts in political science and economics from Rutgers College, a master of arts in political economy from Fordham University and a master of arts in political economy from New York University.

The institutional fixed income broker-dealer is based in Greenwich, Conn.
