Knight Capital Group adds Aitken, Barcus, Lessen to global capital markets team

St. Louis, June 14 - Knight Capital Group, Inc. appointed Mark C. Aitken, David A. Barcus and David Lessen as managing directors in capital markets, effective immediately, according to a company news release.

Aitken, who will be based in London, assumes responsibility for managing the capital markets team in Europe.

Prior to joining Knight, Aitken spent six years at HBOS where he set up the firm's corporate bonds business, offering high yield and debt private placement solutions to Bank of Scotland's private equity and mid-cap clients in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.

Barcus, who will work in Knight's Greenwich, Conn., headquarters, leads high-yield capital markets.

Barcus is a former managing director at MTN Capital Partners. Previously, he spent more than 16 years at BNP Paribas in various roles throughout BNP's leveraged finance and high-yield businesses.

Lessen, who will also work in the Greenwich office, directs convertibles capital markets.

Lessen is a former managing director and head of convertible bond origination at BroadpointGleacher. He was with UBS Investment Bank for nine years and was a managing director in the global health care, investment banking group where he led the group's convertible bond and equity derivative origination activities.

He received a Ph.D. in theoretical and applied mechanics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
