Kirk asks court to OK $3.7 million sale of Woodstock, Ill., property

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 21 - Kirk Corp.'s Chapter 7 trustee requested court approval to sell certain real property owned by Apple Creek Estates, located on phases 1 and 2 of the Apple Creek Estates Subdivision, Woodstock, Ill., to L.B. Anderson Construction, Inc. for $3.7 million, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The property consists of about 86 finished lots, 16 raw lots, six single family homes, 50 town home units, 6 town home models and land for approximately 515 single family lots and 194 town home lots.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 12.

Kirk, an employee-owned homebuilder based in Streamwood, Ill., filed for bankruptcy on May 12, 2009. Its Chapter 7 case number is 09-17236.
