Kirk granted emergency request for extension to cash collateral use

New York, Sept. 2 - Kirk Corp. obtained approval of its emergency request for authorization to use $1.85 million in cash collateral through Sept. 25, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The company filed the emergency motion Tuesday.

Kirk's access to $1.85 million of cash collateral was previously extended to Sept. 4 from Aug. 12. The company said the cash collateral is being used to pay wages, salaries and operating expenses.

Kirk, an employee-owned homebuilder based in Streamwood, Ill., filed for bankruptcy on May 12. Its

Chapter 11 case number is 09-17236.
