Kirk requests cash collateral extension until Sept. 25

By Alice Popovici

New York, Sept. 2 - Kirk Corp. filed an emergency motion requesting an extension to its authorization to use $1.85 million in cash collateral through Sept. 25, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The company's access to $1.85 million of cash collateral was previously extended to Sept. 4 from Aug. 12.

Kirk previously said the cash collateral is being used to pay wages, salaries and operating expenses.

Kirk, an employee-owned homebuilder based in Streamwood, Ill., filed for bankruptcy on May 12. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-17236.
