Moody's assigns Kimberly-Clark's notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to $500 million of senior unsecured notes offered by Kimberly-Clark Corp. Moody's expects the proceeds will largely be used to repay commercial paper. The company had around $657 million in commercial paper outstanding as of Dec. 31. The outlook is stable.

Kimberly-Clark's A2 senior unsecured rating reflects the company's large global scale and strong market position in paper, health and hygiene-related consumer products. The ratings also reflect the company's strong operating cash flow, and senior management's public commitment to the single-A rating category.
