Moody's rates Kimberly-Clark notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to $500 million of senior unsecured notes offered by Kimberly-Clark Corp.

Moody's said it expects the proceeds will be used primarily to refinance outstanding commercial paper.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect the company's large global scale and strong market position in paper-, health- and hygiene-related consumer products, Moody's said.

The ratings also consider the company's strong operating cash flow, the agency said, and senior management's public commitment to the single-A rating category.

The company generates good organic growth, but potential pricing pressure and volume risk from private label and other competitors will remain challenges, Moody's said.
