Moody's rates Kimberly-Clark notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to Kimberly-Clark Corp.'s proposed $500 million of senior notes. The outlook remains stable.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which Moody's expects will include a contribution to the company’s U.S. pension plan.

The agency said Kimberly-Clark's A2 senior debt rating reflects its sizable global scale; strong market position in paper, health and hygiene-related consumer products; strong cash flow and public commitment to an A rating.

Rating constraints include limited product diversification and greater concentration of sales and profits within the developed markets than some of its large peers, Moody’s said.
