Kid Brands asks court to allow 90-day extension of exclusive periods

New York, Sept. 26 – Kid Brands, Inc. requested an extension of its exclusive plan of reorganization filing and solicitation periods, according to a Friday motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

Kid Brands asked that its exclusive filing period be extended though Jan. 14 from Oct. 16 and its solicitation period through March 16, 2015 from Dec. 15.

According to the motion, the company has been focused on stabilizing its business and various asset sales, preventing it from formulating a plan.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30.

Kid Brands, an East Rutherford, N.J.-based designer, importer, marketer and distributor of infant and juvenile consumer products, filed for bankruptcy June 18. The Chapter 11 case number is 14-22582.
