Fitch affirms Kenya

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Kenya's long-term foreign- and local-currency issuer default ratings at B+ and BB- respectively, along with its short-term currency rating at B and country ceiling at BB-.

The outlook is stable.

Kenya's economy has weathered the adverse global environment, Fitch said.

Although almost all key measures of creditworthiness deteriorated last year, for the most part they remain close to the peer group norms, the agency said.

Growth is now picking up and inflation is low, Fitch added.
