Kentucky Higher Education to sell $134.6 million asset-backed notes

By Sheri Kasprzak

New York, Feb. 6 – The Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corp. is expected to price $134,605,000 of series 2015-1 student loan asset-backed notes, according to a preliminary official statement.

The bonds (/AA+(sf)/AAAsf) will be sold on a negotiated basis with BofA Merrill Lynch as the underwriter.

The bonds are due Dec. 1, 2031.

Proceeds will be used to finance the acquisition of student loans, to defease all the remaining bonds under the corporation’s 1997 general bond resolution and to repay short-term debt.
