Moody’s changes Kemper view to negative

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the Baa3 senior unsecured debt rating of Kemper Corp. as well as the A3 insurance financial strength ratings of its leading property and casualty and life insurance subsidiaries.

The outlook for Kemper was changed to negative from stable.

Moody’s said the outlook change reflects weak underwriting results in Kemper’s core nonstandard auto insurance business due to inflation-driven costs.
