KB Toys posts $6.92 million May operating loss

Pittsburgh, June 28 - KB Toys, Inc. reported a $6.92 million operating loss on sales of $33.39 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
In April, the company posted a $9.46 million operating loss on sales of $31.98 million.
The net loss for May was $4.92 million, down from a $6.32 million net loss in April.
Cash and cash equivalents on May 31 were $26.09 million, compared to $29.92 million at the end of April.
The Pittsfield, Mass.-based toy retailer filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 14, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-10120.
