KB Toys posts $9.46 million April operating loss

Pittsburgh, June 1 - KB Toys, Inc. reported a $9.46 million operating loss for April on sales of $31.98 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
In March, the company posted a $6.43 million operating loss on sales of $54.31 million.
The net loss for April was $6.32 million, up from March's net loss of $5.1 million.
Cash and cash equivalents on April 30 were $29.96 million.
The Pittsfield, Mass.-based toy retailer filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 14, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-10120.
