New York, Sept. 8 - Amkor Technology Taiwan Ltd., a subsidiary of Amkor Technology Inc., plans on launching an up to NT$1.8 billion five-year secured term loan on Sept. 16, according to a company news release.

Chinatrust Commercial Bank Ltd. and Ta Chong Commercial Bank will act as coordinating arrangers on the deal.

Security will be a first priority lien on all real property held by Amkor Technology Taiwan along with certain of its recently acquired equipment.

Proceeds will be used to repay NT$1 billion interim-financing that the two lead banks have provided and for general working capital purposes, including capital expenditures.

Amkor Technology is a Chandler, Ariz.-based provider of contract semiconductor assembly and test services.
