S&P lifts Kazakhtelecom view to positive

Standard & Poor’s said it revised the outlook on Kazakhtelecom JSC to positive and affirmed the BB long-term corporate credit rating.

The agency also said it raised the company’s national scale rating to kzA+ from kzA.

The outlook revision reflects Kazakhtelecom’s fair management and governance, which was previously considered weak, S&P said.

This improved assessment also depends upon higher predictability in its business and financial decisions, the agency said.

But based on its track record, S&P said it still sees a risk that the company’s capital spending might become more aggressive.
