Kazakhstan sells no mid- or long-term bonds at Wednesday auctions

By Marisa Wong

Madison, Wis., April 23 – The Kazakhstan Finance Ministry said it auctioned no treasury bonds at the special trading sessions held on Wednesday.

The ministry held a special trading session to place KZT 30 billion of additional long-term treasury bonds due 2040 (Meukam-300, third issue) and another special trading session to place KZT 10 billion of additional 6.2% mid-term treasury bonds due 2020 (Meokam-60, 49th issue).

The issuer said it did not accept any of the orders placed for the long-term bonds and found the prices for the mid-term bonds unfavorable.
