Katy Industries reports $92,671 operating profit for May 27-June 30

Pittsburgh, Aug. 22 – Katy Industries, Inc. reported a $92,671 operating profit for the period of May 27 through June 30 on $6.67 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In comparison, Katy posted a $484,184 operating loss for the period of May 14 through May 26 on $2.57 million in net sales.

The net loss for the June period was $921,395, narrowing from a $1.05 million net loss for the previous period.

In addition, Katy had $6.13 million in unrestricted cash and equivalents as of June 30, up from $5.14 million at May 26.

The company also reported in an 8-K filed with the SEC that Robert Guerra resigned as a director and chief executive officer, and Brian Nichols resigned as vice president and assistant secretary, effective July 20.

Katy, a St. Louis-based manufacturer, importer and distributor of commercial cleaning and consumer storage products, filed bankruptcy on May 14 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The Chapter 11 case number is 17-11101.
