By Paul A. Harris

Portland, Ore., July 1 - Germany's Katjes International GmbH & Co. KG will begin a subscription period on Monday for a €30 million offering of 7 1/8% five-year fixed-rate notes (Creditform BB+), according to a press release from the company.

IKB Deutsche Industriebank is managing the deal.

Proceeds will be used to fund potential acquisitions in the Western European market for sugar imports under the company's growth strategy.

In addition, Katjes plans to use proceeds to repay shareholder loans and pay down the debt of subsidiaries, including the operating companies of International Katjes.

Katjes is an Emmerich, Germany-based producer of sugared confections.
