Kansas City Southern files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 21 - Kansas City Southern and its subsidiary, Kansas City Southern Railway Co., jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration for the parent covers common stock, preferred stock, stock purchase contracts, stock purchase units, warrants and guaranteed debt securities. The registration for the subsidiary covers guaranteed debt securities.

Use of proceeds will be specified in the prospectus supplement.

Based in Kansas City, Mo., Kansas City Southern is a transportation holding company.
