Moody's lifts Great Plains Energy

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded the ratings of Great Plains Energy Inc., including its senior unsecured rating to Baa2 from Baa3, and its operating subsidiaries Kansas City Power & Light Co., including its senior unsecured to Baa1 from Baa2 and Kansas City Power & Light - Greater Missouri Operations, including its senior unsecured to Baa2 from Baa3.

The outlooks are stable.

"The rating upgrade for Great Plains and its subsidiaries primarily reflects constructive regulatory relationships in Missouri and Kansas, that continue to provide adequate cost recovery, primarily through general rate increases," Moody's assistant vice president Ryan Wobbrock said in a news release.
