Kansas City Power & Light to sell 10-year notes likely Thursday

Omaha, March 5 - Kansas City Power & Light Co. announced an issue of 10-year notes (A3/BBB) Wednesday, with pricing likely Thursday, a source close to the issue said.

Bookrunners are Banc of America Securities LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc.

Proceeds will be used to repay a portion of outstanding commercial paper and, pending that, will be invested in short-term marketable securities.

The utility is based in Kansas City, Mo.
