Fitch gives AAA to Kansas City, Mo., bonds

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an AAA rating to Kansas City, Mo.'s $40 million of general obligation improvement bonds, series 2008A, and an AA rating to the city's $39.4 million of special obligation bonds (East Village Project), series 2008B.

The G.O. bonds will sell competitively on April 2, and the special obligation bonds will price by negotiation as early as the week of April 1.

The outlook on all of the city's debt is negative.
