Kaiser Aluminum posts $35.46 million December operating loss

Pittsburgh, Feb. 1 - Kaiser Aluminum Corp. reported a $35.46 million operating loss for December on sales of $93.79 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures compare with November's $6.75 million operating income on sales of $80.57 million.

The net loss for December was $21.47 million, down from a $4.1 million November net income.

Cash on Dec. 31 was $56.26 million, compared with $53.59 million at the end of November.

Kaiser, a Houston-based aluminum company, filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 12, 2002. Its Chapter 11 case number is 02-10429.
