Kaisa Group Hong Kong case recognition hearing scheduled for June 3

Pittsburgh, May 17 – Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd. said a hearing will be held June 3 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York regarding the company’s petition for U.S. court recognition of its restructuring proceeding pending before the High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

According to a news release, responses and objections to Kaisa’s Chapter 15 bankruptcy petition or to the recognition request must be filed by 4 p.m. ET on May 27.

If no responses or objections are filed, the court may enter an order without further notice.

Kaisa Group, a Shenzhen, China-based property development company, filed bankruptcy on May 5. The Chapter 15 case number is 16-11303.
