Moody's gives Kagiso Baa2.za

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a first-time national-scale issuer rating of Baa2.za to Kagiso Trust Investments (Pty) Ltd.

The assignment of this first time issuer rating follows the acquisition of CA-ratings by Moody's Corp. in April 2007, the agency noted.

The outlook is stable.

According to the agency, the issuer rating of Baa2.za on Kagiso reflects: (i) the solid Asset Quality underpinning provided by its various investments, the market value of Kagiso's investment portfolio, as well as the relative business diversity associated with Kagiso's investment portfolio, (ii) the group's relatively strong credit metrics based on 2007 results, (iii) the strong underlying market fundamentals supporting continued growth in the South African economy, as is evident in the improvement in the company's market value based leverage and (iv) the output produced under the rating Factor grid of Moody's Global Investment Holding Companies methodology.
