Bear Stearns reiterates Amgen at peer perform

Amgen, Inc. was reiterated by Bear Stearns analyst Mark Schoenebaum at peer perform after the company reported second-quarter financial results, raising its 2006 earnings-per-share guidance to $3.75 to $3.85 from $3.60 to $3.70. The analyst believes a decision in the CERA case will come shortly and that things appear favorable for Amgen. Shares of the Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based biotechnology company were up $2.23, or 3.49%, at $66.15 on volume of 21,139,527 shares versus the three-month running average of 8,641,800 shares.
