New Issue: HSBC sells $650,000 5% buffered market participation notes on EM ETF

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 9 – HSBC USA Inc. priced $650,000 of 5% buffered market participation securities due Oct. 11, 2023 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Interest will be paid at maturity.

The payout at maturity will be par plus the lesser of any fund gain and a cap of 90%.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 20% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond the 20% buffer.
