HSBC plans two-year buffered AMPS with cap linked to basket

Olympia, Wash., June 19 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due July 1, 2021 linked to a basket consisting of the S&P 500 index with a 70% weight, the Russell 2000 index with a 15% weight and the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund with a 15% weight, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any basket gain, up to a maximum return of 16% to 17%.
Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 15% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 15%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on June 26.
The Cusip number is 40435UQQ0.
