RBC plans five-year barrier return notes linked to iShares MSCI EAFE

Chicago, April 6 – Royal Bank of Canada plans to price 0% barrier return notes due April 29, 2022 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 100% to 108% of any fund gain, with the exact participation rate to be set at pricing.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 50% and will be fully exposed to any losses if the index finishes below the 50% barrier level.
RBC Capital Markets, LLC is the underwriter.
The notes will price on April 26.
The Cusip number is 78012KH83.
