RBC plans buffered enhanced return notes linked to iShares MSCI EAFE

Chicago, March 20 – Royal Bank of Canada plans to price buffered enhanced return notes due April 2, 2019 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 150% of any fund gain, up to a maximum redemption amount of 115% of par.
Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 21% to 24.5% and will be fully exposed to any losses beyond the buffer, with the exact percentage to be set at pricing.
RBC Capital Markets, LLC is the underwriter.
The notes will price on March 28 and settle on March 31.
The Cusip number is 78012KE37.
