RBC plans buffered enhanced return notes linked to iShares MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Nov. 14 – Royal Bank of Canada plans to price 0% buffered enhanced return notes due Nov. 28, 2018 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to an FWP with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 150% of any fund gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,140 per $1,000 principal amount of notes.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 22.5% to 25.5% and will be fully exposed to any losses beyond the buffer, with the exact percentage to be set at pricing.

RBC Capital Markets, LLC is the underwriter.

The notes will price on Nov. 22 and settle on Nov. 30.

The Cusip number is 78012KVT1.
